Please see the event program for exact times
Friday – May 18th: While some of you are testing your skills at the Autocross, others will want to join Dawn Stokes with Total Driving Experience as she conducts seminars to help you gain Road Course knowledge for Sunday’s Track Day. Or, you might want to join your friends for the fun-filled scavenger hunt, “Roamin’ Roanoke.” Participants will travel to downtown Roanoke, park in a Corvette only parking lot, and then go from store-to-store collecting clues for a variety of prizes. But whatever you do during the day, be sure you’re at the Texas Motor Speedway no later than 5:00 pm, because at 5:15 pm, we’ll head out on an escorted Cruise to the Historic Fort Worth Stockyards. First, we will be led by the great folks at Texas Motor Speedway on a lap of the Oval Track and then head to the Stockyards. Local law enforcement officials will be escorting us. After parking in a Vette designated area, you’ll enjoy a BBQ dinner, dance the two step, shop the many gift shops in the area, and look for the Longhorns. (A cash bar will be available.)
Saturday – May 19th: The Show N Shine Car Show will be by Class with members voting on non-member cars and non-members voting on member cars. The Judged Car Show will be by class as well with judging done by experienced LSCC Club members (it is not NCRS level judging) who are looking primarily for cleanliness. Both Member and Non-Member Best of Show awards will be given, as well as a Judges’ Choice Award, along with several specialty awards and picks.
Military veterans may display their Corvettes in a specially designated area. The special display is available to both Members and Non-Members, either Show N Shine or Judged. Feel free to enhance your display with memorabilia, citations, pictures, etc.
Doug Fehan, Corvette Racing Program Manager, will be the featured speaker after Saturday's awards dinner. Wil Cooksey, former Corvette Plant Manager, is also scheduled to attend. . As always, our wide array of vendors will have lots of new items at great prices. Our Club sponsor, Classic Chevrolet, will have the latest models on display.. Christian Classic Cruisers will be playing old favorites from the ‘50’s and ‘60’s.
All activities at TMS will end at 3:00 pm to give you plenty of time to get ready for a fun-filled Saturday evening at the Marriott Hotel.
Saturday Evening: Starting off with Happy Hour, we’ll serve a plated dinner. The Live Auction will feature our old friend and long-time auctioneer, Weldon Floyd. As in the past, there will be several activities occurring at the same time after the Live Auction. For those entered in the car shows, awards will be presented in the Main Ballroom, starting with Special Awards. The Silent Auction in rooms across from the Main Ballroom will continue until approximately 9:30 pm. A cash bar will be available for those who want to meet and greet old friends.
Sunday – May 20th: It’s Track Day, with lots of ‘Vette driving activities. Enjoy some laps around the TMS Oval Track or head to the Road Course to test your driving skills, or do both! You can also enjoy the antics of our special “Golf Cart Derby.”
