Please see the event program for exact times.
Friday – May 22nd: While some of you are testing your skills at the Autocross, others will want to join Dawn Stokes with SKILLS Driving as she conducts seminars to help you gain Road Course knowledge for Sunday’s Track Day.
It is MANDATORY to attend one of these seminars if you are registered for Road Course track event on Sunday. (An additional seminar will be offered Sunday morning but space will be limited.)
After picking up your registration packet, be sure to stop by the Silent Auction across the hall from registration. Next, you might want to join your friends in exploring the neighboring city of Roanoke in what we call, Roamin' Roanoke. It’s just a short 5-minute drive from Texas Motor Speedway. Roanoke is the “Unique Dining Capital of Texas,” offering over forty restaurants and great shopping. Just stop by the City’s display in the ballroom and pick up your dining/shopping guide, a map, and a chance for three FREE gift card drawings. These drawings will be held in the TMS Cup Garage after the picnic. (You must be present to win.)
But whatever you do during the day, be sure you’re at the Texas Motor Speedway infield no later than 5:15 p.m. The evening will start with an Oval Track Lap followed by a Fun Run on the roads of TMS. A picnic style dinner located in the Cup garage follows the Fun Run where you will have a choice selecting from a cheeseburger, hot dog, foot-long corny dog, or a chicken strip basket. Each basket includes fries and a cold drink (iced tea, lemonade, bottled water, or bottled soda). If an adult beverage is your preference, a cash bar will also be available. A 50/50 cash drawing as well as prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Fun Run winners following the picnic. First prize is a new 32-inch TV!! (You must be present to win.)
Saturday – May 23rd: The Show 'N Shine Car Shows will be organized by Class for both Members and Non-Members alike. Awards will be presented to the Top 3 cars in each Class. The Judged Car Shows will also be by Class for Members and Non-Members. Judging will be done by experienced LSCC Club members who are looking primarily for cleanliness (it is not NCRS level judging). A Best of Show award will be awarded to both a Member and Non-Member as well as selections for a Judges’ Choice Award and several specialty awards will be presented.
As always, our wide array of vendors will have lots of new items on display throughout the Car Show at great show prices. Don't forget to visit our Club sponsor's booth, The Thompson Group at Classic Chevrolet, who will have the latest Chevrolet models on display. If that isn't enough, Christian Classic Cruisers will be back playing old favorites from the ‘50’s, ‘60’s, and '70's.
Throughout the Car Show, tickets will be available for a second 50/50 cash drawing. The drawing will occur around 2:30 p.m. during the Car Show near the registration tables, which will be located about mid-way under the grandstands. (You must be present to win.) 100% of the proceeds from both Friday's and Saturday's 50/50 cash drawings benefit the Lone Star Corvette Classic 2020 charities.
All activities at TMS will end at 3:00 p.m. to give you plenty of time to get ready for a fun-filled Saturday evening at the Marriott Hotel.
Saturday Evening: Starting off with Happy Hour, we’ll serve a plated dinner in the Main Ballroom. The Live Auction will feature our old friend and long-time auctioneer, Weldon Floyd. After the Live Auction, awards for the Car Show will be presented in the Marriott Main Ballroom. A cash bar will be available for those who want to meet and greet old friends.
The Silent Auction will reopen at 3:00 p.m. and close at 6:00 p.m. in the rooms across from the Main Ballroom. Results will be announced at 9:00 p.m. and items may be picked up then. Winners will have one more opportunity to pick up their items on Sunday morning from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. from the Silent Auction room at the Marriott Hotel.
Sunday – May 24th: It’s Track Day, with lots of Corvette driving activities. Enjoy some laps around the TMS Oval Track or head to the Road Course to test your driving skills or do both! Be sure you have attended one of the Road Couse Seminars put on by Dawn Stokes with SKILLS Driving as this is a mandatory requirement before getting on the Road Course. The Road Course seminar scheduled for Sunday will occur inside the Media Center building, which is located in the infield of TMS. Space is very limited at this facility so plan ahead and attend one her seminars on Friday to avoid waiting to get on the road course!
NOTE: Helmets are required for the Road Course. You will need to bring your own. Attendance at one of the Road Course seminars is required for the Road Course track event.
